Start small

At the local level, small circular trails have been created around all the local communities in the area, usually around 5 kilometers. Also in Langweiler. They are particularly beautiful and idyllic. The Geo-Park Krahloch between our neighboring villages Sensweiler and Wirschweiler informs about geology, mineralogy, raw materials as well as nature and landscape on a 1 km long circular trail by means of exhibits and display boards. The history trail "Through two millennia" runs around the nearby Wildenburg, as does an adventure trail, on whose approximately 3.5 km long route you can vividly learn how a forest is naturally rejuvenated, by which characteristics trees can be distinguished, where which wild animals can be found, how charcoal was produced in the past in piles and much more worth knowing. On the 22 km long "Schleifer-Weg" in Idar, the hiker will discover everything worth knowing about the topic of "Minerals and Gemstones" and their processing.

A witty and friendly guide through the charming hiking region is our sports coach Christian Gottlieb, who is an experienced hiker and hunter. He knows the area extremely well. If you want to hike a part of the Saar-Hunsrück Climb, he knows the right tours, informs about plants and animals and tells exciting stories from the region.

Über den Erbeskopf

Der Hunsrückhöhenweg führt vorbei am 6 km entfernten Kirschweiler und geht vom Hahnenbachtal bis zur Nahe. Von dort geht es an der Edelsteinmetropole Idar-Oberstein vorbei über die höchste Erhebung des Hunsrücks und Rheinland-Pfalz - dem Erbeskopf (818 m) - zur Mosel.
